By Breaking Belize News Staff: Steven Barrington Flowers, a 29-year-old resident of Belize City is the first suspect to be charged in connection with a home invasion on St.Thomas Street, while police seek several others.

Flowers appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court yesterday charged with aggravated burglary.

Due to the nature of the offense, Flowers could not enter a plea and bail could not be offered to him until three months’ time. He was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until November 25.

In court, Flowers accused police of deliberately waiting until almost the end of his 48-hour detention period, filing the charges some 40 minutes before the time had passed.

Allegations against Flowers are that he and three others invaded the home and held three people at gunpoint. The men stole over $4,000 in cash, over $3,100 in jewelry, wallets, cell phones, personal items, and household items totaling around $10,000.
